This painting grew out of memories formed while pa This painting grew out of memories formed while paddling and swimming last summer on Caspian Lake, the Thousand Islands, and Lake Champlain. I love looking at camps along the shore—whether fancy or simple, it’s the camp vibe that intrigues me. There’s something magical about rounding a corner and suddenly seeing a camp that seems to hover on the surface of the water. I was truly honored to design this project—hardbound with gold foil stamping, a dust jacket, beautiful paper… all the lovely details. And what a story. Michael O. Alexander has crafted a deeply moving love letter to a father he never knew, who flew with Britain’s RAF during World War II.
